Under the premise of the Green New Deal, this project questions the highly conditioned modern living style which chops the cognitive relationship between our presence and our impact through living.
‘Constant Varies’ challenges the benchmark analyzing the energy performance of buildings. By configuring a not-so-conditioned living, ‘Constant Varies’ enables an autonomy of knowledge and time. Taking care of the ever-changing building leads the residents to less energy-intensive activities, better health, and more resiliency towards uncertanty. The Windermere located at 400
west 57th street will be the pilot project for New York, generating data for community
experiments and policy changes. Metric wise, this project aims to reduce nearly 50 percent of the energy consumed within buildings with a square footage more than 25,000.
